Acronym Dynamics Lab

Nike, ACRONYM, 2022, Berlin, Germany

008

February 2022 ACRONYM and Nike were releasing a new collection, and part of it was a Blazer Low silhouette. The idea behind the shoe was an interchangeable 3D printed heel clip.

10 designers were hand-picked to design their a heel clip, including myself. My design is inspired by different types of straps, ratchets, and connectors, while I also chose to emphasize the mount points of the heel clip on the shoe.

The Nike logo is integrated as well, but I merged a lightning bolt design into it, inspired by the exhaust pipes of Japanese bozusoku cars, something ACRONYM cited as an inspiration behind the new collection.

World For Us

Elvis De Sade, 2021, Munich, Germany

007

Artwork for Munich-based band Elvis De Sade. I designed the album cover front and back, vinyl record stickers and band shirts.

Before the album was finished, the band gave me the opportunity to listen to a bunch of songs. It made me feel as if I was driving, alone on a dimly lit highway. The cover illustrates the rhythm of highway lights passing you by in the middle of the night.

The band shirts features a spot illustration on the front and a full back graphic, both depicting a lamp hung from a chain, further elaborating on the theme of a dimly-lit night.

NFON Incentive Campaign

  NFON, 2020, Munich, Germany

006

Melville Brand Design approached me to illustrate an incentive campaign for NFON, a market leader in cloud-based telephone systems, with the aim to thank and motivate their employees.

The result is a heap of imaginary communication devices, which I designed in a tongue-in-cheek manner, to make people reflect on the meaning
of communication, and how we take it’s availability for granted.

These illustrations were applied to a whole range of merchandise items, which were then boxed and gifted to workers.

MPHIL Campaign Pitch

Münchner Philharmoniker, 2019, Munich, Germany

004

While working as an art director, I was asked to support with a campaign pitch for the Munich Philharmonic Orchestra. I came up with illustrations that combined architectural fragments of an orchestra hall with elements of musical instruments.

Unfortunately, the pitch was short-lived but I took it upon myself to further develop my illustrations into a fully-fledged poster campaign.

Nike RUNLD Collection

Nike, 2019, London, United Kingdom

003

In 2018 I was asked by Sang Bleu Agency to collaborate on the 2019 Nike “RUNLD” London Marathon capsule collection. The brief was to combine typical London architectural landmarks with so-called “chicken shops”, symbolizing the international character of the city.

I drew up a bunch of constructions that
combine an illustrated corner store with buildings such as Battersea Power Station, Big Ben, and the Lloyd‘s Building. These designs were then combined into patterns by Sang Bleu Agency, and were used across the entire collection.

The limited release included two running shirts, a pair of shorts and a running jacket, and was covered by media outlets such as Hypebeast and Highsnobiety.

Oakley CPP Cards

Oakley, 2017, Munich, Germany

002

The Oakley Certified Partner Program unifies all certified Oakley dealerships across the world. Back in 2017, the German leg of the program sent out a christmas-themed package to all partners, wishing them well for the holidays.

I was tasked with illustrating the greeting cards. I toyed with the logo a lot, producing an exploded view-style design as well as a pattern. In the end, the client signed off on an alternative approach in which I designed machines for making gingerbread men.

Volleyball Innovations

Comdirect, 2017, Munich, Germany

001

German online bank Comdirect has a longstanding tradition in supporting the premier volleybay league. In 2017 they contemplated taking their support one step further, introducing technical innovations that improve both viewer experience and engagement with the bank’s products.

I was asked to provide a spot illustration for each of the bank’s proposed ideas, respecting the bank’s corporate identity, meaning color palette and typography, whilst retaining the high level of detail I am known for.
