Jan De Vylder & Jo Taillieu - Studio aDVVT

Guide students in developing their identity as architectural designers while integrating CAD tools into their design process.

Students are tasked with translating intangible qualities such as mood, atmosphere, and spatial character into an architectural folly: an architectural intervention without a prescribed programme, whose primary purpose is to define the threshold between interior and exterior space.

The studio encourages a design approach that progresses from detail to whole, fostering an understanding of detail, materiality, and construction as fundamental drivers of architectural form.

By granting a high degree of creative freedom, the project uses the architectural folly as a vehicle for exploration, encouraging students to develop their creative voice and establish their architectural identity.
